Nova Scotians to Learn About Air Quality

Environment and Labour (Oct. 2000 - March 2008)

Nova Scotians are invited to learn about the science of outdoor air quality from the experts at a forum in Halifax on March 8.

"Each of us has a role to play in keeping the air clean," said Environment and Labour Minister Kerry Morash. "The first step is to understand how air quality is made better or worse depending on our actions. This forum is an opportunity for Nova Scotians to better understand how air pollution happens."

The Department of Environment and Labour will host the forum for environmental organizations and interested individuals. Department staff will give presentations along with other government, academic and non-profit experts.

Topics include the basic science of air quality, the effects of air pollution on the environment and human health, and government initiatives to improve air quality.

There is no fee but seating is limited and registration is required by Wednesday, March 1. Interested individuals can register by calling 902-424-2581 or e-mailing birchad@gov.ns.ca . More details are available at www.gov.ns.ca/enla/airlandwater .
