Deadline Approaching for Nova Scotia Art Bank Applications

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

Nova Scotia artists are encouraged to submit applications for the purchase of their work by the Nova Scotia Art Bank.

The art bank supports the careers of local artists and craftspeople by purchasing works of art for its permanent collection each year.

"The art bank provides valuable exposure to artists and craftspeople from across Nova Scotia and inspires others to develop their talent," said Tourism, Culture and Heritage Minister Len Goucher.

After more than 30 years, the collection consists of about 2,000 works of art. These pieces are displayed in government offices throughout the province and in special gallery exhibitions across the country.

The deadline for receiving applications is Nov. 15. For more information, see the department's website at www.gov.ns.ca/dtc .
