Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

Members of the arts and culture community are asked to mark their calendars for the second annual Creative Nova Scotia Conference and Awards Gala on Oct. 18.

Paul Gallant, chair of the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council, announced today, June 22, that the event will be held at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre in Sydney.

"We are delighted that Cape Breton will be the backdrop for a discussion on how a vibrant and sustainable arts and culture sector can strengthen our communities, economy and quality of life," said Mr. Gallant.

Held for the first time at the De Coste Centre in Pictou last year, the conference provides an excellent learning and networking opportunity, while the awards gala encourages and celebrates the pursuit of excellence by Nova Scotia artists. This year's awards presentation will include the Portia White Prize, Prix Grand-Pré and a number of new awards and scholarships announced at last year's event.

More information on the second annual Creative Nova Scotia Conference and Awards Gala will be made available during the coming months.

The Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council, in consultation with the arts and culture sector, provides advice and recommendations to guide the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage regarding ongoing investment in Nova Scotia's artists, cultural industries and cultural activities.
