Tourism Sessions Around Province

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

Tourism operators and others have an opportunity to help shape the future of Nova Scotia's tourism industry through a series of meetings this fall.

The Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage and the Nova Scotia Tourism Partnership Council are hosting another round of Let's Talk Tourism sessions across the province. A number of sessions are usually held each year.

"Provincial government and the tourism industry have a long and successful history of working in partnership to increase our revenues and grow our economy," said Len Goucher, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage. "Let's Talk Tourism is one of the many ways in which we work with our industry partners, providing information and listening to concerns and suggestions."

During the sessions, participants will get an update on progress with the tourism plan, New Realities, New Directions launched in December 2006, and share their thoughts on how to continue implementing it in 2008.

"The Tourism Partnership Council is extremely pleased to help host discussions among industry members and department staff about local tourism issues and ideas," said council chair Chris Millier. "It's an excellent forum for our industry members to contribute to a more strategic approach to meeting long-term challenges and seizing opportunities in tourism."
