Department Notifies Public About Arrest Warrant

The Department of Justice is notifying the public about a Halifax man who was released as a result of a wrongful interpretation of a warrant of remand.

Eric Latham, 23, who is charged with aggravated assault and unauthorized possession of a firearm, has been on bail since last June, however his bail has been revoked and a provincial court warrant was issued for his arrest Jan. 18.

Mr. Latham was originally picked up by Halifax Regional Police on Jan. 12, but was released from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Burnside because staff felt the documentation was inadequate to legally hold him.

Halifax Regional Police have been notified and are seeking Mr. Latham.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call local police.
