Join in the Fun at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

Day camps, scavenger hunts, and nature walks are just a few of the activities available to the public from now until the end of summer at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park.

These events, sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources, will enable children, adults and families to learn more about wildlife and enjoy the park's natural beauty.

There is a Summer Day Camp for children between the ages of seven and 12 from Aug. 11 to 15. It includes daily themes such as wetlands, endangered species, habitats, adaptations and food chains.

On Aug. 16, visitors can take part in a Biodiversity Day, featuring scavenger hunts, guided nature walks and pond exploration.

A family activity called Track the Food Web is scheduled for Sept. 13 and includes a two-hour hike through the park.

Shubenacadie Wildlife Park has seen many changes over the years. There are new interpretative signs throughout the park with extensive information about wildlife exhibits.

Knowledgeable staff are always on hand to help or answer questions.

There is a 10-hectare picnic area adjacent to the park, complete with tables, shelters, washrooms and running water. The park is also wheelchair accessible.

To pre-register for events, interested individuals should call 902-758-5316 or e-mail pennysl@gov.ns.ca . More information on the park's events throughout the year is available on the website at http://wildlifepark.gov.ns.ca.
