Sherbrooke Village to Host Fundraising Motorcycle Rally

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

Motorcycles of all types will roll into Sherbrooke Village on the Labour Day weekend for a rally to support a home for cancer patients and their families.

The rally is a fundraiser for the Lodge That Gives at the Halifax Cancer Centre. It offers a home away from home for patients and their families living more than 50 kilometres away from the cancer treatment centre.

The weekend event will begin on Friday, Aug. 29, with a blues benefit concert at the Courthouse featuring East Coast Music Award winner John Campbelljohn with special guest George Brothers.

On Saturday, there will be a poker rally, music at the Performance Centre, field events, and a bike show and shine. The evening will feature a country dinner followed by a dance at the Lions hall.

Sunday will feature a farewell breakfast and rally wrap-up. All makes and models of bikes are welcome and prizes will be awarded in categories such as best touring motorcycle, best custom bike and best sport class, as well as for the field event competitions.
