Jamieson Hillside Road in Mira is closed from Trunk 22 to Hills Road for bridge replacement from Monday, Sept. 15 until Saturday, Sept. 27.

There is a detour on Hills Road.

KINGS COUNTY: Route 221

Route 221 will be closed about one kilometre west of Black Rock Road for replacement of the Rufus Power Culvert from Monday, Sept. 15 to Saturday, Sept. 20.

A detour is available on Black Rock Road, Brooklyn Street, and Pleasant Valley Road.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Shore Road West

Shore Road West in Middleton will be reduced to one lane for road, culvert and guardrail upgrades until Friday, Oct. 31.

Signs and traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Highway 101

Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane between Exit 18 (Middleton) and Exit 19 (Lawrencetown) for repaving.

Signs and traffic control people are on site but delays are possible. An alternate route is available on Trunk 1.

Motorists are advised to drive with extra care in the construction zone and obey signs and personnel. Work continues until Monday, Sept. 15.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Route 245

Route 245 from Brierly Brook Road, west for eight kilometres, will have alternating lane closures for ditching, repaving and culvert installation until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sections of Trunk 7, south from the intersection of Highway 104 at Antigonish, are restricted to one lane until Friday Oct. 31 for repaving.

Main-a-Dieu Road will have a one-lane closure starting two kilometres east of Trunk 22 and going for 4.7 kilometres towards Main-a-Dieu until Friday, Oct. 31.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Newcombe Bridge

Newcombe Bridge, about 17 kilometres west from the Cumberland-Colchester county line on Trunk 2, will have a one-lane closures to replace the rail and repair concrete until Friday, Oct. 10.

Traffic control signals are in place. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Thompson Road

Thompson Road, between Crawley and Pugwash River Road, will be closed for culvert replacement until further notice. A detour is available on Crawley Road.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Trunk 2, Parrsboro

Traffic on sections of Trunk 2 between the Parrsboro town line and Lakelands Road will be restricted to one lane for repaving until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: South River Lake Road

South River Lake Road, from the Fire Hall at Salmon River Lake east for 5.5 kilometres, will have alternating one-lane closures for upgrading, graveling and re-paving until Friday, Oct. 31.

Traffic control people and a pilot vehicle are on site. Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and some Saturdays.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Glenelg Church Road

Glenelg Church Road, from Route 347 at Aspen south to Route 348 at Glenelg, will be have intermittent one-lane closures for upgrading and re-paving until Friday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday and some Saturdays.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Northbound

Highway 102 northbound between exits 6 and 7 will be reduced to one lane for paving until Friday, Sept. 19.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Ingramport Bridge

Ingramport Bridge on Trunk 3 will be closed for repairs. A temporary bridge is in place south of the work zone. Work continues until Sunday, Nov. 30.

Drivers are advised to obey signs and reduce speed on the temporary bridge and in the work zone.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Route 224

Trunk 224 will have stop-and-go traffic for chip sealing until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Motorist are advised to watch for flying stones. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HANTS COUNTY: Chip Sealing

Several road sections in Hants County will be chip sealed during September. Affected roads are Trunk 14, Route 215, and Route 224 until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Traffic delays are expected and there will be loose stones on the road surface after work crews have left the area.

Motorists are advised to obey signs and personnel, and drive with caution in the area.

The work will protect pavement and help prevent potholes.

HANTS COUNTY: Trunk 14 and Route 215

Trunk 14, known as the Windsor-Chester Road, and Route 215 will have stop-and-go traffic for chip sealing until Tuesday, Sept 30.

HANTS COUNTY: Bog Road Overpass Closed

The overpass that carries Bog Road over Highway 101 is closed until Sunday, Nov. 30. It will be replaced as part of the Highway 101 twinning project.

A marked detour route is available on Rand Street, Bishopville Road, and Old Post Road.

HANTS COUNTY: Halfway River Bridge, Highway 101

Continuing work on the new bridge and approaches at Halfway River on Highway 101 will require intermittent lane closures on the existing on- and off-ramps at Exit 8 until Friday, Sept. 26.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset, Monday to Friday. Traffic control people and signs are on site.

HANTS COUNTY: Route 215 Detour

Traffic on Route 215 in the Urbania area near Stewiacke will be detoured because of damage to a culvert. A two-kilometre detour is provided on Ox Bow Road, known locally as Old Loop Shore Road, until further notice.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Grand Etang Bridge

The Grand Etang Bridge in the community of Grand Etang will occasionally be reduced to one lane for bridge replacement until Friday, Oct. 31.

A detour is available via a temporary bridge, marked with signs and directional lighting. Traffic control people will be on site.

Traffic on sections of Highway 105, west of Exit 3, is restricted to one lane for repaving until Friday, Oct. 31.

Murray Truss Bridge on the Murray Hill Road is closed because of storm damage. The bridge will be assessed and the road closed until repairs are completed.

The Portree Bridge on Hatchery Road will be closed until further notice.

There is a detour on East Big Intervale and Hatchery Roads.

River Inhabitants Road to McArthur's Bridge will be closed for bridge replacement until Monday, Sept. 15.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Trunk 19

Sections of Trunk 19 will be reduced to one lane for repaving from the intersection at Margaree Forks for eight kilometres south to the intersection with Route 395 at South West Margaree.

Signs and a pilot vehicle are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Upper South West Mabou Road

The Upper South West Mabou Road, known locally as the Irish Road, is closed because of storm damage. The road, between Moran Road and the River Intervale Road, is expected to be closed for at least two weeks.

About 6.4 kilometres of Aylesford Road will be reduced to one lane for paving until Friday, Oct. 31.

Glebe bridge on Route 201 will have a 2.7-metre height restriction and a 15-tonne weight restriction until further notice.

Kates Bridge on Tannery Road in Hantsport is closed for repairs until further notice.

Ira Bill Road in Billtown, Kings Co., is closed because of a culvert failure until Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Traffic control consists of barricades. Detour signs are in place.

North River Road, starting about 12 kilometres from English Mountain Road and going west for about 2.8 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane until Friday, Oct. 31.

A one-lane bridge is open on Trunk 3 between Mahone Bay and Chester while the new Gold River Bridge is built. Work is expected to end in August 2009. Traffic lights are in place.

The Gunns Bridge on the East River St. Marys West Side Road will be closed until Wednesday, Oct. 15, to replace the bridge. Detour signs are in place.

Granton-Abercrombie Road, from the Trenton Connector north for about 5.7 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for patching and paving until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Trunk 6 will only be open to local traffic to facilitate bridge repairs until Monday, Sept, 15.

RICHMOND COUNTY: 4 Sections

The following sections of road will be reduced to one lane for cold planing, pulverization, repaving and drainage until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

  • Trunk 4 from the intersection of Black River Road east to South Side River Bourgeois Road for about 8 kilometres.

  • Highway 104/Trunk 4 Connector at Exit 47 for about one kilometre.

  • Trunk 4 from River Tillard Bridge, west to Highway 104 for about a half kilometre.

  • Rock Bay Road from the Rocky Bay Hall, east to Bona Road, for about 2.6 kilometres.

There are traffic control people and a pilot vehicle on site. Work takes place from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
