Tourism Discussion Sessions to be Held Across Province

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

Tourism operators and industry leaders will have an opportunity to help shape the future of Nova Scotia's tourism industry through a series of discussion sessions this fall.

The Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage is hosting another round of Let's Talk: Tourism Business Forum sessions across the province. A number of sessions are usually held each year.

"These sessions provide an opportunity to have frank discussions with industry stakeholders and operators about the challenges facing the tourism industry, as well as opportunities to strengthen our collective efforts to grow the industry," said Tourism, Culture and Heritage Minister Bill Dooks.

During the sessions, participants will be updated on the tourism plan and tourism trends. They will also be invited to comment on tourism marketing, product development and the 2009 tourism plan.

The dates, times and locations of meetings are:

  • Monday, Oct. 27, 1-4 p.m., Liscombe Lodge, Liscomb Mills, Guysborough Co.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m - noon, Days Inn, 480 Kings Rd., Sydney
  • Wednesday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m - noon, Holiday Inn Express, 86 Lawrence Blvd., New Glasgow
  • Thursday, Nov. 6, 1-4 p.m., Municipality of Clare, 1185 Little Brook, Clare
  • Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1-4 p.m., World Trade and Convention Centre, 1800 Argyle St., Halifax
  • Thursday, Nov. 13, 9 a.m.- noon, 63 Cole Dr., Super 8 Motel, Windsor
  • Friday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m. - noon, Days Inn and Conference Centre, 50 North St., Bridgewater
