Canso Causeway Closed Due To Severe Weather Conditions
Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)
Canso Causeway has been closed today, Jan. 1, to all traffic until further notice due to severe whiteout conditions caused by a high storm surge.
A storm system continues to bring severe winter weather and whiteout conditions across the rest of Nova Scotia as well. Drivers are warned to keep off roads to keep themselves and others safe, as travel is extremely difficult.
