Inmate Death at Correctional Facility

An inmate at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility has died in custody.

The inmate was discovered in his cell in the Burnside facility by correctional staff at 6:12 a.m., today, Jan. 26. Immediate family are being notified.

Halifax Regional Police and Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Services have been called in to investigate. As well, the Department of Justice is conducting an internal investigation.
