Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

A $1,810,950 road-paving contract in Lunenburg County has been awarded by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

The contract was awarded to Dexter Construction Co. Ltd., to repave a section of Lower Branch Road from the intersection of Sarty Road north for 6.2 kilometres to the intersection of Tompkin Road at Stanley Section. The project is scheduled for completion this summer.

"This project will result in smoother trips for drivers on this section," said Brooke Taylor, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "This year we will complete our four-year pledge to repave 2,000 kilometres of Nova Scotia roads."

The department's highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
