Road-paving Contract Awarded For Lunenburg County

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

The province has awarded a road-paving contract for Lunenburg County worth $2,052,560.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal awarded the contract to Dexter Construction Co. Ltd. to repave an 8.6 kilometre section of Cornwall Road from Middle Cornwall north to the intersection of Newburne Road.

"This popular route into Mahone Bay and Lunenburg will be smoother and safer after this project is completed," said Brooke Taylor, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "These kinds of projects benefit local communities while providing work and supporting the provincial economy."

The project is expected to be completed this summer.

The department's highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
