Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax is hosting the 2009 Historica Fair on Friday, April 24, a showcase of history, heritage and culture projects prepared by students from each of the eight school boards across Nova Scotia.

The exhibition, which is part of the National Historica Fairs Program, takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum and will feature about 24 student exhibitors from grades four to nine.

Some of the topics explored in the projects will include traditional Mi'kmaq drumming, historical sea charts, early settlers of Ingonish, a history of one room schoolhouses, and much more.

The public is invited to attend the exhibition and support these young, enthusiastic students and their interest in the country's heritage.

The fairs program is part of the Historica Foundation of Canada. This provincial celebration is achieved in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Education, the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, Scotiabank, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is located at 1675 Lower Water St.
