Highland Village Museum Holds Saint Columba's Feast Day

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

Nova Scotians are invited to celebrate one of Gaelic Scotland and Ireland's most revered saints, Calum Cille or St. Columba, at the Highland Village in Iona, Victoria Co., on Tuesday, June 9.

Highland Village will observe Là Fhéill Calum Cille, or Saint Columba's Feast Day, by serving traditional sweet breads and showing video-taped footage of Cape Breton Gaelic speakers. This rare footage of Gaelic oral culture includes the late storyteller Joe Neil MacNeil.

The St. Columba Feast will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Regular admission fees to the museum apply.
