iLove Nova Scotia Offers Trip of a Lifetime

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

The province is inviting residents and visitors to submit videos about what they love most about Nova Scotia for a chance to win a dream vacation.

The tourism division of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage launched the ilove Nova Scotia Video Contest on July 9. The videos will be shown on www.novascotia.com/ilove , with the grand prize winner decided by online popular vote.

"The contest uses social media to spread the word about what Nova Scotia has to offer as a vacation destination," said Percy Paris, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage. "People are able to share their Nova Scotia experiences and what they love about our province and send a powerful message to potential visitors and Nova Scotians alike."

The contest welcomes video submissions of Nova Scotia's sights and experiences, from its picturesque ocean coastline, to the unique culture and vibrant music scene.

The grand prize is a custom-built Nova Scotia dream vacation valued at $15,000. It includes travel and accommodations plus allowances for activities, entertainment, tours and events for the winner and guests.

Video submissions will be accepted until Aug. 31, and voting will continue until Sept. 30. The winner will be announced Oct. 5. Voting is open to residents, visitors and anyone who has ever wanted to experience Nova Scotia's charm and beauty firsthand.
