Woodwind Ensemble brings Music to Haliburton House

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

On Sunday, Sept. 13, local woodwind ensemble, Windblown, will return to the Haliburton House Museum in Windsor for a program of classical and modern music.

Once the home of judge and author Thomas Chandler Haliburton, the house and its scenic grounds will provide the ideal setting for this special concert.

"It's great to see the house used for live music," said Jason Tucker, the museum's senior interpreter. "Haliburton himself was well known for entertaining and this is the sort of afternoon event he would have hosted 170 years ago."

Comprised of six musicians from the Windsor area, the ensemble was eager to once again perform at the museum. Over the past 10 years, Windblown has been part of musical events around the region and the group has continued thanks to their mutual love of music.

The concert will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Cost is included with regular museum admission and light refreshments will be served.

Haliburton House Museum, 414 Clifton Ave., Windsor, is part of the Nova Scotia Museum, a family of 27 provincial museums. Visit http://museum.gov.ns.ca for more information.
