NEW WORK


ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Route 337, Canal Bridge

During construction of a new Canal Bridge on Main Street in Antigonish, traffic on Route 337 is being rerouted to a temporary detour bridge.

The temporary bridge will be in place until Friday, Dec. 31.

Signs and traffic signals are on site. Please drive with extra caution in the construction area.

DIGBY COUNTY: Bridge Closure

The Murray Bridge on Meadowville Station Road will be closed for repairs from Monday, July 12, until Friday, July 23. There will be no through traffic on Meadowville Station Road during this period.

A marked detour route is available.

DIGBY COUNTY: Sissiboo Road Closed

Sissiboo Road in Bear River will be closed between Landsdowne Road and Bell Street to allow for slope repairs and road reconstruction.

A marked detour route is available on Clark Street. The project is scheduled for completion on Friday, Aug. 6.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 7

Traffic on sections of Trunk 7 is reduced to one lane east from the intersection of MacKinley Point Loop to allow for repaving.

Traffic will be directed by traffic control people and a pilot vehicle. Please drive with extra caution and patience through the construction area.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Larry Uteck Interchange

There will be alternating closures of inbound and outbound lanes of Highway 102 (Bicentennial Highway) at the Larry Uteck interchange on Sunday, July 11 to allow for the installation of overhead signs.

The inbound lanes are scheduled to close for 20 minutes at 5:30 a.m., while the outbound lanes will close at for 20 minutes at 7:30 a.m.

Drivers should expect delays or use an alternate route.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 347

Traffic on Route 347 at Exit 26 from Highway 104 will be reduced to one lane until Tuesday, Aug. 31, during the ongoing twinning of Highway 104.

Delays are expected and drivers should use extra caution in the construction zone.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Highway 101

Highway 101, west of Exit 22 for about nine kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for guardrail replacement, patching and paving until Saturday, July 31.

Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Highway 101

Victoria Bridge on Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane for repairs and paving until Saturday, July 31.

A traffic signal is in place. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Overpasses Near Havre Boucher

Linwood Railway and Pellerine Road overpasses on Highway 104 near Havre Boucher have alternating lane closures for concrete repairs, joint replacement, waterproofing, until Friday, July 23.

There will be timed lights at both overpasses to assist drivers through the construction zone but delays are expected. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Drivers can us Trunk 4 as an alternate route between Exit 37 (Monastery) and Exit 38 (Havre Boucher).

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trunk 4

Sections of Trunk 4, from Meadows Road west to St. Mary's Church, are reduced to one lane for paving until Thursday, Sept. 30.

A pilot vehicle will guide motorists. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 105

On Saturday, June 26, the Little Bras d'Or Bridge on Highway 105 will be reopened to two-way traffic. Traffic will remain uninterrupted unless advised otherwise.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trunk 22

Trunk 22, from about two kilometres north of Catalone Gut Road, south for about six kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for paving until Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Until Tuesday, Aug. 31, sections of the east and west bound lanes of Highway 104 along the Cobequid Pass will be reduced to one lane, for road patching between the toll plaza and Exit 12 at Masstown.

Traffic on both sides of the Cobequid Pass toll plaza on Highway 104 may also be reduced to one lane for road repairs and micro-surfacing.

Drivers should watch for signs and drive with extra caution. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Traffic on sections of the westbound lanes of Highway 104 will be reduced to one lane from Exit 15 at Truro to Exit 13 at Debert to allow for repaving.

Work takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. until Saturday, July 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 311

Traffic on Route 311, between the intersection of Onslow Road and Stewarts Bridge, is reduced to one lane for crack filling and chip sealing until Saturday, July 31.

Traffic control is on site. Drivers should use caution in the area.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Highway 104

Traffic on sections of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 104 between the Cobequid Pass toll plaza and Exit 8 (Westchester Station) will be reduced to one lane for road repairs and micro-surfacing until Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please drive with extra caution in the construction zone and watch for signs and traffic control people.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Northport Bridge

Northport Bridge on Route 366 is closed until Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 for replacement.

Detour from Shinimicas Road to the east of the bridge and Mudcreek Road to the west of the bridge. Cyclists should travel with caution.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Trunk 4

A 6.5-kilometre section of Trunk 4 from Wentworth Collingwood Road to Barclay Loop will be reduced to one lane for cold planing, repaving and bridge repairs until Saturday, July 31.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends if required.

Highway 101, from Exit 31 at Meteghan to Exit 32 at Salmon River, will be reduced to one lane for repaving and shoulder work until Thursday, July 15.

Traffic delays are expected. Cyclists are asked to use caution. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

DIGBY COUNTY: Lewiston Road Bridge

Lewiston Road Bridge in Ashmore will be reduced to one lane for a windmill project until Wednesday, Sept. 1. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

DIBGY COUNTY: Sissiboo Road

Sissiboo Road will be closed from the intersection of Sissiboo Road and Landsdowne Road, about 300 metres to Bell Road until Monday, Aug. 9.

Detour via Bell Road or Clark Road. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge on Route 344 at Middle Melford is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built.

The speed limit has been reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Burnside Drive

Lane closures will take place until Saturday, Aug. 7 on Burnside Drive, between Commodore Drive and the Highway 111 interchange, to allow for repaving.

Two lanes of traffic will remain open into Burnside during the morning rush hour and two lanes will be available leaving Burnside during the afternoon rush hour.

Traffic on the overpass is reduced to two lanes and is controlled by traffic signals.

Drivers should exercise caution and patience in the work area.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Clamshell Road

Clamshell Road will be closed occasionally to replace culverts until Friday, July 9.

A detour is available via East Petpeswick to Trunk 7 to West Petpeswick.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Paving Near Airport

Repaving of the northbound lanes of Highway 102 may cause delays for drivers approaching the Robert L. Stanfield International Airport from Halifax.

Work is taking place from south of Exit 5A (Aerotech Park) to Exit 6 (airport). Access to the airport via Bell Boulevard will be maintained at all times.

To minimize traffic delays two lanes will be open to traffic (with occasional exceptions) throughout the remainder of the project.

Work is taking place from sunrise to sunset. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of July.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Larry Uteck Interchange

Traffic on Highway 102 at the Larry Uteck Interchange will be restricted to three lanes instead of four while new ramps are being built.

The closed lane will vary depending on the time. Two lanes will be open for inbound traffic in the morning and outbound traffic in the evening.

Drivers should use extra caution in the area.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 103

Sections of Highway 103, between Exit 5 at Tantallon and Exit 6 at Hubbards, will be reduced to one lane for repaving until Saturday, July 31.

Delays of about 15 minutes can be expected. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trunk 3

Sections of Trunk 3 (St. Margarets Bay Road) are reduced to one lane between Cleveland Point Road and Boutiliers Point Road for repaving.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset until Sunday, Oct. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102

Traffic on Highway 102 is reduced to one lane in each direction at Exit 9 (Milford) to allow for the construction of a new interchange.

Delays are possible. Please drive with extra caution and watch for signs and traffic control people in the construction zone.

Work takes place from dusk until dark until the end of the year.

Highway 101, from Exit 4 at St. Croix to Exit 5A at Windsor, including the Wentworth Road overpass, is reduced to one lane for repaving until Saturday, July 31.

Sections of Route 215, from Academy Street in Maitland to the Route 236 intersection west of the bridge, are reduced to one lane for paving until Thursday, Sept. 30.

Cheticamp River Bridge on the Cabot Trail will be reduced to one lane for bridge replacement until Sunday, Oct. 31.

Murrays Hill Bridge, which crosses the Mabou River near Rankinville Road, is closed until further notice.

Red River Road in Pleasant Bay will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs until Wednesday, July 14.

KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101, Delays Expected

Traffic on Highway 101 is reduced to one lane west of Exit 14 at Coldbrook for bridge repairs.

Delays are expected and alternate routes should be taken if possible. Please drive with extra caution and watch for signs and traffic control people in the construction area.

Traffic on the Busby McMahon Bridge on Brooklyn Street, near Aylesford, is reduced to one lane until further notice. Traffic lights are in place.

Kates Bridge, on Tannery Road in Hantsport, is closed for repairs until further notice.

North Foord Street, south of the ramps from Highway 104,, is restricted to one lane for roundabout construction at the Foord Street - Exit 24 intersection until Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Highway 104, near Exit 26 in Sutherlands River will have a speed zone reduction to 70 km/h for construction work for the Highway 104 twinning project until Sunday, July 31.

Traffic on sections of Highway 106 in the Pictou area, from Highway 104 north to Exit 2, will be reduced to one lane for repaving and the installation of rumble strips until Saturday, July 31.

Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.
