TOURISM, CULTURE AND HERITAGE–-Volunteer Team Manager Needed for Canada Games National Artists Program

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

The Halifax 2011 Canada Games Host Society is seeking a team manager for the National Artist Program.

The team manager will provide guidance and support to three artists age 16 to 22 in advance of and during the 2011 Canada Games.

The team manager should have:

  • a high level of emotional maturity
  • experience working with young people age 16 to 22
  • a demonstrated interest in the arts, at minimum
  • an understanding and appreciation of the creative and performance processes
  • a commitment to the philosophy and values of the Canada Games
  • an appreciation and understanding of multi-disciplinary sports events

The team manager will support, guide and advise team members, and liaise between the National Artist Program and the provincial/territorial team. They will work with the program director to ensure full participation of team members in program activities and the Games experience.

The team manager will also ensure codes, rules, regulations and requirements are met and take disciplinary measures if needed. Other responsibilities related to the program may be required.

Team manager is an un-paid, volunteer position. All travel expenses are paid.
