Museum of Natural History Closes Due to High Temperatures

Tourism, Culture and Heritage (Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2011)

The Museum of Natural History has temporarily closed its public galleries and staff offices today, Sept. 1, because of high temperatures.

The museum is not equipped with a ventilation system that can cope with the excessive heat and humidity being experienced in Nova Scotia.

Meteorites: Messengers from Space and Time, a talk by Richard Herd scheduled for this evening, has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for a date in October.

The museum will resume its normal hours of operation tomorrow. Any future decision to close the public galleries will be determined by temperature conditions at that time.

Members of the public can contact the museum information line at 902-424-7353 for updated information.
