Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

Planning is continuing on the Highway 103 twinning project to provide motorists with safer and more efficient travel.

The project involves a 22 kilometre section of Highway 103, from Exit 5 at Upper Tantallon to Exit 6 at Hubbards. The project also includes a proposed new interchange in the Boutilier's Point area.

Environmental and other studies are being conducted with an open house planned for February.

"Public consultation is a key part of highway construction, and we want to have all reports completed before the open house, including up to date information about the proposed interchange," said Bill Estabrooks, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "Although these projects take time, we are committed to improving and updating Highway 103 to make life better for families travelling our highways."

Planning has been underway since 2007 and all reports and studies should ne completed early in the new year.

The projected cost of the twinning project is $85-million, including an estimated $10 million for the proposed interchange.
