Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive with caution in rainy weather.

Warnings have been issued for heavy winds and rain with the highest rainfall amounts forecast over southwestern coastal regions where rainfall amounts could reach 50 millimetres.

Drivers should adjust their speeds for weather conditions and be aware of the risk of hydroplaning.

Weather can be unpredictable. It is always wise to watch for weather warnings and advisories and to be prepared for whatever the weather might bring. The Emergency Management Office advises Nova Scotians to always have an emergency kit and plan, and to be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for the first 72-hours of any emergency.
