Safety Advisory Issued

Nova Scotia will experience a major winter storm today, Feb. 2. Twenty to 45 centimetres of snow is expected to fall by Thursday morning, with the central mainland expected to receive the greatest amounts.

The Emergency Management Office is asking people to be prepared, especially for transportation disruptions.

"It will be a significant snow storm and people need to be ready," said Ross Landry, Minister for the Emergency Management Office. "Expect adverse driving conditions, delays and inconvenience. Use caution and common sense."

Drivers are advised to watch for changing conditions, adjust speed where necessary and follow traffic at a safe distance. Emergency car kits are a good idea.
