Highway 103 Open House

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

Nova Scotians are invited to learn more about how a proposed new interchange and connector road between Exits 5 and 6 on Highway 103 will improve access and safety.

An open house is being held March 10 to update residents on the twinning project from Upper Tantallon to Hubbards.

"We know the community is very interested in this project, that's why we're inviting them to learn more and provide input," said Bill Estabrooks, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "We're committed to upgrading Highway 103 to bring it up to current standards while improving safety and efficiency."

Information on highway twinning, potential interchange locations, connector road options, and environmental assessments will be provided, along with maps, displays and results of recent studies. Department staff will be available to answer questions on the various aspects of the project.

"Public input is a key step in our highway projects and this is an opportunity to provide information and get feedback from the public before final decisions are made," said Mr. Estabrooks.

The open house is being held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Black Point Firehall, 8579 St. Margarets Bay Rd.

The interchange and proposed connector road are part of a multi-year Highway 103 twinning project and are included in government's Five Year Highway Improvement Plan.
