Offender Dies at Southwest Nova Scotia Correctional Facility

An offender died Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Southwest Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Yarmouth.

The offender was discovered in his cell just before 10 p.m. Next of kin are being notified.

"I extend my sincerest sympathy to the family," said Justice Minister Ross Landry.

RCMP, the Medical Examiner Service and the Department of Justice are investigating. Foul play is not suspected.
