Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)
The Canso Causeway has re-opened. It was closed earlier because of a motor vehicle collision.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal continues to advise motorists to take extra precautions when driving on Cape Breton island because of weather conditions.
If you are planning to travel, listen to local weather reports, call 511 or check the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal highway cameras at www.gov.ns.ca/tran/cameras for updated conditions before leaving. Drivers might consider delaying travel.
