New Case in Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program

Another case is being added to Nova Scotia's Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program today, May 18.

The Department of Justice is offering a cash reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the disappearance of Melissa Dawn Peacock.

Ms. Peacock left her residence in Dartmouth at about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2011. Police have learned that Ms. Peacock traveled to the Gore area of Hants County that day. Ms. Peacock's last contact was at about 12:34 a.m. on Nov. 8, 2011.

Police believe Ms. Peacock is the victim of foul play.

"The RCMP and the Department of Justice urge anyone with any information related to Melissa Dawn Peacock's disappearance to please come forward," said Justice Minister Ross Landry. "We all share a responsibility in terms of building safe communities, and no information about this case is too trivial."

Those who come forward will be expected to provide their name and contact information. They may be called to testify in court. All calls to the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program are recorded.

The Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program was launched in October 2006 as another tool for law enforcement to use in solving crime. There are 62 cases in the program.
