Annual Garden Party at Government House June 20

The public is invited to attend the annual lieutenant-governor's Garden Party, Wednesday, June 20, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant and Mrs. Joan Grant will host the garden party on the grounds of Government House in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. To mark the occasion, a commemorative bust of Queen Elizabeth II will be unveiled.

Guests are invited to enjoy refreshments on the back lawn, weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, only out-of-town guests will be accommodated. Those planning to attend the party should enter Government House through the main entrance on 1451 Barrington St., Halifax.

Parking is not available at Government House, but is available on surrounding streets and lots.
