The Next Provincial Parks Consultations

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

Public consultations on provincial parks are continuing, with two sessions tonight, June 19, and two Thursday, June 21.

The Tuesday meetings are:

  • Amherst: Wandlyn Meeting and Convention Centre, Exit 3 Hwy 104
  • Truro: NSCC Campus, 36 Arthur St.

The Thursday meetings are:

  • Parrsboro: Royal Canadian Legion, 56 Moore St.
  • Stellarton: Museum of Industry, 147 North Foord St.

Next week, a Halifax session will be held Tuesday, June 26, at the Halifax Forum, 2901 Windsor St.

All consultation meetings are 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

People may also comment through an online survey. Some residents will be contacted for a telephone survey.

The province's natural resources strategy, The Path We Share, released in August 2011, calls for a review to develop a more sustainable parks system. Information and opinions gathered from Nova Scotians during the parks consultations will help develop an improved, sustainable system of parks.

Public meetings have been held in 10 towns across the province with additional French consultations, via video conference, in five French-speaking areas. For more information, visit www.gov.ns.ca/natr .
