Hants County: Trunk 2

Trunk 2, from Route 214 north to Barney's Brook will be reduced to one lane for patching and repaving from Monday, July 30 until Sunday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control on site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge will be closed for repairs until further notice.

A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road, and Hatchery Road.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Port Hastings Rotary

On Sunday, July 29, large cranes needed for the removal of damaged signs at the Port Hastings rotary will cause traffic delays.

One long delay of up to 45 minutes is expected to occur before noon.

Drivers should avoid the rotary on Sunday morning or be prepared for a significant delay.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Riverside Road

Riverside Road will have two bridges, Morrison's Siding and MacDonald's Gulch, reduced to one lane for repairs from Monday, July 30th until Friday, August 31.

Traffic lights in place.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Trunk 19

Trunk 19, from about two kilometres north of Creignish Mountain Road, north for about seven kilomoetres will be reduced to one lane for repaving until Oct. 31.

Traffic control persons and pilot vehicle on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Trunk 10

Trunk 10, from West Dalhousie Road north to Trout Lake Road, about eight kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for ditching, driveway pipe installation, paving and patching until Sunday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control on site. Work takes place from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Lower South River Bridge

Lower South River Bridge will be closed to replace the bridge and approaches. A detour is in place until Aug. 31.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 125

Exit 7 on Highway 125 will have occasional lane closures until Aug. 31, during construction of a bridge.

Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 125

Twinning from Sydney River, Exit 6, to Grand Lake Road until June 30, 2013.

Expect slow moving traffic. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hillside Road from Trunk 22 south for about seven kilometres will be reduced to one lane for paving until Sunday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Coldstream Road, from Alton Road south for about six kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for paving until Friday, Aug. 31.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Allan Hill and South Branch Roads

Allan Hill and South Branch roads in the Advocate area have a weight restriction of five tonnes until further notice.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Trunk 2

Trunk 2, for about six kilometres from West Brook Road to Southampton, will be reduced to one lane for maintenance until Monday, July 30.

Traffic control people are on site.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Trunk 2, Springhill Junction Structure

The Springhill junction bridge on Trunk 2 will be reduced to one lane for road repairs until Tuesday, July 31.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge on Route 344 at Middle Melford is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built.

The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.

Highway 101 from Exit 5A, westerly six kilometres to start of Twinned Highway will be reduced to one lane for repairs until Sunday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people on site. Stop and go traffic will be in place.

KINGS COUNTY: Aylesford

Brooklyn Street from Morden Road easterly to New Road, Aylesford, will be closed for replacement of the Busby McMahon Bridge until Friday, Aug. 3. Detour is in place.

The bridge is reduced to one lane until further notice.

KINGS COUNTY: Shore Road, Oglivie Wharf

Shore Road will be closed for repairs to Oglivie Wharf until Friday, Aug. 31.

A detour is in place.

KINGS COUNTY: Trunk 1

Trunk 1, from the Annapolis-Kings county line, east to Greenwood Road, will be reduced to one lane for repairs until Wednesday, Oct. 31.

There will be periodic lane closures. Expect delays. Traffic control people are on site.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104 Twinning Project

The continuing work to twin Highway 104 near Sutherlands River will create changes for drivers in the area.

Traffic on Trunk 4 and Route 245 can now access Highway 104 on the new Exit 27 Interchange.

Traffic on Route 245, Trunk 4 and Thorburn Road, will be occasionally reduced to one lane during paving work.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Traffic control people will be on site. Construction is expected to be finished by Tuesday, July 31.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 106

Highway 106, from Exit 2 north to the Pictou Rotary, for about six kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs until Friday, Aug. 31.

Traffic control people and signals are on site. The speed limit is reduced in the work zone, expect delays.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

PICTOU COUNTY: Weirs Bridge Closed

Weirs Bridge on Shore Road in the Waterside-Caribou Island area of Pictou County is closed to traffic.

Two paved detour routes are available on R. Grant Road and Shore Road, and a gravel road detour on Otter Road.

Drivers should use extra caution and allow for extra time when travelling in this area.

RICHMOND COUNTY: West Bay Highway

West Bay Highway, from 100 metres east of Black River Bridge for about six kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for maintenance until Sunday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control and a pilot vehicle are on site.

VICTORIA COUNTY: MacLeod Angus Bridge

Traffic on the MacLeod Angus Bridge in South Harbour is reduced to one lane until further notice.

Traffic signals are in place.

The Red Bridge on the Old Margaree Road in Big Baddeck is closed to traffic. A detour is in place.

The bridge will be replaced this construction season.
