Updated Highway Conditions, Ferry Operations

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal equipment operators report series 100 highways continue to be passable with extreme caution. High winds and blowing snow are causing poor visibility in most areas. Some local roads may not be passable.

Drivers should watch for localized flooding where storm surges may have washed out roads.

Motorists are also encouraged to stay off the highways if possible to allow snow plows and salt trucks to clear the roads.

The Tancook Island ferry is tied up for the day. The Englishtown ferry, Country Harbour and Digby Neck ferries are out of service until further notice. LaHave and Little Narrows ferries remain in operation.

Conditions can change quickly. Drivers are reminded to call 511 or visit the Nova Scotia 511 website for updates on road conditions before traveling.
