NEW WORK


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Tatamagouche

Lake Road will be closed from the intersection of Highway 6 to the intersection of Trout Brook Road for repairs to Lombard Creek Bridge from Monday, Aug. 12, until Friday, Aug. 23.

Detour signs are in place.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridges

The Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook bridges, on Route 202 in West Gore, have a 24-tonne weight restriction until further notice.


PICTOU COUNTY: Park Falls Road

Park Falls Road will be closed for culvert repairs from Monday, Aug. 12, until Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Drivers can detour on Route 347 and Thorburn Road.


PICTOU COUNTY: Truro Road, North Bear Brook Bridge

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 14, Truro Road will be closed at North Bear Brook Bridge for repairs until Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Truro Road traffic will be detoured onto North Main Street and Cowan Street. Detour signs will be posted.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Bayfield Bridge

The Bayfield Bridge on Summerside Road is closed for repairs. A detour route is marked. The bridge is scheduled to reopen Friday, Aug. 16.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 125 Detour

Traffic on Highway 125 in Sydney, between George Street and Grand Lake Road, is detoured onto new lanes until Wednesday, Aug. 21. The speed limit is reduced to 80 km/h.

Drivers should use extra caution or take an alternate route.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement.

While the Sydney River Bridge is closed, the province is providing a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Drive) and Walmart (65 Keltic Drive).

A detour route for drivers has also been marked.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Coldstream Road Coldstream Road, from about a half-kilometre south of Johnson Road to Route 224, is reduced to one lane for paving until Sunday, Sept. 15.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

Traffic on Highway 102 at the bridges over Shubenacadie River is reduced to one lane in each direction to allow for repairs on both bridges until Friday, Aug. 30.

Drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area, and should be prepared for delays or use an alternate route.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104, from the Mines Bass River Road overpass to the Masstown Road overpass, is reduced to one lane for repaving until Saturday, Aug. 17.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Masstown Road

Masstown Road, from the Highway 104 overpass to Debert Road, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Truro, Robie Street Roundabout Construction is underway on the new Robie Street roundabout in Truro. All work in the travel lane will be completed at night with traffic control people on site. Work will be a mix of day and night work, and is expected to continue until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Drivers are asked to travel through the work zone with extra caution and be alert for construction staff and slow-moving vehicles.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 256

Route 256, from Route 311 to one kilometre west of Truro Road, is reduced to one lane for culvert installation, gravelling and chip seal work until Sunday, Sept 1.

Work takes place from dawn to dusk.


DIGBY COUNTY: Highway 101, Kinney Bridge

Traffic on Highway 101, about four kilometres east of Exit 27, is reduced to one lane during repairs to the Kinney Bridge.

Traffic will be controlled by automated traffic signals and delays are possible. Drivers should be alert for traffic stopped on the highway.

The repairs are scheduled to be completed by Friday, Aug. 30.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16

Highway 16, at Halfway Cove for about a half-kilometre north, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and some Saturdays.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Joseph Howe Drive Overpass

Repairs are being made on the Joseph Howe Drive overpass on Highway 102, Exit 0 until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Travel lanes are shifted to accommodate rush hour traffic. Drivers should reduce speed to 50 km/h and drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


HANTS COUNTY: Route 215

The northbound lane of Route 215, north of Beaver Pond Road at Centre Burlington, is reduced to one lane to replace the culvert until Wednesday, July 31. Temporary automatic traffic signals are in place to control traffic.


HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie, Bridge Trunk 2

Shubenacadie Bridge on Trunk 2 is reduced to one lane until Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h in the construction area.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road, and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105

Highway 105, north of the Aberdeen Motel, for about a half-kilometre, has a one-lane closure for repairs until Friday, Aug. 16.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has reopened with a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Millville Bridge Closure

Millville Bridge on Victoria Road in Millville is closed for repairs. Traffic will be detoured onto Maple Avenue, Whitman Road and Ward Road. The closure will last until the end of August.

Please drive with caution and patience in the area.


KINGS COUNTY: Highway 1

Highway 1 in New Minas to Prospect Road, ending at Highway 12 in North Alton, is reduced to one lane for culvert repairs, ditching and repaving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103 Bridge Repairs

Traffic on sections of Highway 103 between Exit 10 (Mahone Bay) and Exit 13 (Bridgewater) is reduced to one lane for bridge repairs.

Traffic control people are on site and delays are possible. Drivers should be prepared to stop, or use Route 325 between Exits 10 and 13.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: LaHave Islands Bridge Closure

Repairs are underway to the abutments on the LaHave Islands Bridge on Crescent Beach Road in Lunenburg County. The bridge is open, but traffic is regulated and delays of up to 20 minutes are possible.

The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 to install and remove jacks at the ends of the bridge. Pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be able to use the bridge during that time.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Forties Road

Forties Road, from Highway 12 west to Fraxville Road, and from Barss Corner Road west to Aylesford Road, is reduced to one lane for road repairs until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Traffic control people are on site. Expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Upper Branch Road

Upper Branch Road is reduced to one lane for paving and patching. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is expected to continue until Monday, Sept. 30.


PICTOU COUNTY: Barney's River Road

Barney's River Road, from Highway 104 north to Avondale Cross Road, for about six kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving. There is one-way traffic through about two kilometres of work zones and delays are expected.

Work takes places from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Work is expected to be complete by Thursday, Oct. 31.


PICTOU COUNTY: Millbrook Road, Alma Road, Marshdale Road, and Three Brooks Road

Millbrook Road, Alma Road, Marshdale Road, and Three Brooks Road are reduced to one lane for re-paving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site but delays are expected. Work takes place Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


PICTOU COUNTY: Waterside Bridge Replacement

Shore Road is closed at Waterside Bridge to replace the bridge.

Shore Road traffic will be detoured onto R. Grant Road, Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail), Three Brooks Road, and Otter Road. Detour signs will be posted.

Work is scheduled to be completed in late October.


PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104

Sections of the westbound lanes of Highway 104, from Exit 19 for about 11 kilometres to the Pictou-Colchester county line, are reduced to one lane until Friday, Aug. 16 for paving.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when travelling through construction zones.


QUEENS COUNTY: Wagner Brook Bridge

Wagner Brook Bridge in Port Mouton, near Highway 103, is reduced to one lane for upgrading until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 4

Traffic on Highway 4, from west of Campbells Bridge, west for about five kilometres to Hay Cove Bridge, is reduced to one lane for repaving and the replacement of the Hay Cove bridge. Work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and people in the area.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Cape Auguet Road

Traffic on Cape Auguet Road, from the intersection of Lower Road south for about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving and other improvements. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and personnel in the area.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Fleur-de-Lis Trail Closed at Fuller Bridge

The Fleur-de-Lis Trail, St. Peters Fourchu Road, is closed at Fuller Bridge, between Framboise and Fourchu, until Friday, Aug. 16.

Drivers should use Highway 4.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Bridge Closed

The Raynardton Bridge on Raynardton Road, west of Gavelton, is closed for replacement. Drivers should use alternate routes. Work is scheduled to be completed by Sunday, Sept. 15.
