New Work


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Mount Pleasant Road

Mount Pleasant Road, from Route 331 to Huey Lake Road, will have alternating lane closures until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic will be stop and go. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


CONTINUING WORK


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement.

While the bridge is closed, the province is providing a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Dr.) and Walmart (65 Keltic Dr.).

A detour route for drivers has also been marked.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Truro, Robie Street Roundabout

The Robie Street Roundabout, at Exit 14 off Highway 102 in Truro, is now open to traffic.
Drivers should travel in a counter-clockwise direction on the roundabout. Vehicles on the roundabout have the right of way. Vehicles entering should yield to those in the roundabout.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Coldstream Road

Coldstream Road, from about a half-kilometre south of Johnson Road to Route 224, is reduced to one lane for paving until Sunday, Sept. 15.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

Construction is taking place on Highway 102 at the bridges over Shubenacadie River until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Traffic is two lanes in both directions, however drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Masstown Road

Masstown Road, from the Highway 104 overpass to Debert Road, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


CUMBERLAND COUNTY: South Branch Bridge

South Branch Bridge on the Apple River Road has a one lane closure for repairs until Saturday, Sept. 14.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16

Highway 16, at Halfway Cove for about a half-kilometre north, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and some Saturdays.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Joseph Howe Drive Overpass

Repairs are being made on the Joseph Howe Drive overpass on Highway 102, Exit 0 until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Travel lanes are shifted to accommodate rush hour traffic. Drivers should reduce speed to 50 km/h and drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


HANTS COUNTY: Falmouth Back Road

Traffic on the Falmouth Back Road is reduced to one lane, from the intersection of Highway 1 east for about three kilometres, for repaving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Expect delays. Use extra caution or alternate routes, such as Town Road, Dyke Road and/or Highway 14.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridges

The Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook bridges, on Route 202 in West Gore, have a 24-tonne weight restriction until further notice.


HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie, Bridge Trunk 2

Shubenacadie Bridge on Trunk 2 is reduced to one lane until Tuesday, Dec. 31. The speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h in the construction area.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road, and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has reopened with a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Highway 1

Highway 1 in New Minas to Prospect Road, ending at Highway 12 in North Alton, is reduced to one lane for culvert repairs, ditching and repaving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Crouse Settlement Road

Sections of Crouse Settlement Road in the Camperdown School Road area are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Blockhouse Area

Sections of Ernst Road and Cemetery Road, between Route 325 and School Road, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Farmington Road

Sections of Farmington Road, between each end of the Barss Corner Road loop, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Forties Road

Forties Road, from Highway 12 west to Fraxville Road, and from Barss Corner Road west to Aylesford Road, is reduced to one lane for road repairs until Saturday, Sept. 21.

Traffic control people are on site. Expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Italy Cross Road

Sections of Italy Cross Road, from Crousetown Road to Highway 103, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Route 329

Route 329, from New Harbour Road east for about eight kilometres, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Traffic control is stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Upper Branch Road

Upper Branch Road is reduced to one lane for paving and patching. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is expected to continue until Monday, Sept. 30.


PICTOU COUNTY:

North Foord Street in Stellarton is closed from under the Highway 104 overpass to the westbound ramps from Highway 104.

A detour route is set up along Lawrence Boulevard, MacGregor Avenue, Westville Road, and Duff Street.

The detour will be in place until the end of September. Please drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


PICTOU COUNTY: Barneys River Road

Barneys River Road, from Highway 104 north to Avondale Cross Road, for about six kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving. There is one-way traffic through about two kilometres of work zones and delays are expected.

Work takes places from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Work is expected to be completed by Thursday, Oct. 31.


PICTOU COUNTY: Millbrook, Alma, Marshdale, and Three Brooks Roads

Millbrook, Alma, Marshdale, and Three Brooks Roads are reduced to one lane for re-paving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site but delays are expected. Work takes place Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


PICTOU COUNTY: Waterside Bridge Replacement

Shore Road is closed at Waterside Bridge to replace the bridge. Shore Road traffic will be detoured onto R. Grant Road, Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail), Three Brooks Road, and Otter Road. Detour signs will be posted.

Work is scheduled to be completed in late October.


PICTOU COUNTY: West River East Side Road

The West River East Side Road is closed for culvert installation about 500 metres west of the intersection with Limerock Road.

Detour routes are marked. The work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, Sept. 16.


QUEENS COUNTY: Wagner Brook Bridge

Wagner Brook Bridge in Port Mouton, near Highway 103, is closed for upgrading until Monday, Sept. 30. Detour in place. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 4

Traffic on Highway 4, from west of Campbells Bridge, west for about five kilometres to Hay Cove Bridge, is reduced to one lane for repaving and the replacement of the Hay Cove bridge. Work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and workers in the area.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Cape Auguet Road

Traffic on Cape Auguet Road, from the intersection of Lower Road south for about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving and other improvements. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and workers in the area.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Bridge Closed

The Raynardton Bridge on Raynardton Road, west of Gavelton, is closed for replacement. Drivers should use alternate routes. Work is scheduled to be completed by Sunday, Sept. 15.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Broad Brook Bridge

The Broad Brook Bridge on Regent Street in Yarmouth is closed until Friday, Sept. 13 for replacement. A detour route is marked via Ellis Road and Wyman Road.
