NEW WORK


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Stewiacke River Bridge

Stewiacke River Bridge, south bound on Highway 102, will have a one lane closure for bridge repairs from Monday, Oct. 28, until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.


KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101, Shaw Road Underpass

Shaw Road Underpass, near Berwick, will be closed for repairs from Monday, Oct. 28, until Friday, Nov. 25.

Detour route is Maple Street to Brooklyn Street.


CONTINUING WORK


ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Canso Causeway

Highway 104, from the intersection of Highway 4 in Aulds Cove to the causeway's swing bridge, will have one-lane closures during nighttime hours, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Construction is expected to continue until the end of November.

Use caution in the area.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Route 216

Sections of Route 216, from 15 kilometres west of Highway 4 to Eskasoni, are reduced to one lane for repaving until Thursday, Oct. 31. The lane closures are in effect 24 hours a day and are controlled by traffic signals or traffic control people.

Delays are expected. Drivers should use extra caution and patience in the area.


CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Route 216

Route 216, from 14 kilometres west of Highway 4 to Eskasoni, is reduced to one lane for paving until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.


CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Sydney

Construction has started on the George Street Roundabout in Sydney. Expect turning and slow moving trucks. Lane closures will be needed as the project progresses.

Work is expected to continue until Saturday, Nov. 30, and takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed to be replaced.

While the bridge is closed, the province is providing a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Dr.) and Walmart (65 Keltic Dr.).

A detour route for drivers has also been marked.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 28

Trunk 28, from Kilkenny Lake Road to Daley Road for about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for paving until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Fred Christie Bridge

Fred Christie Bridge on Valleydale Road, about 150 metres south of Old Greenfield Road, is closed for repairs until Friday, Nov. 8.

A marked detour is in place via Valleydale Road to Greenfield Road to Salmon River Road.


COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

Construction is taking place on Highway 102 at the bridges over Shubenacadie River until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Traffic is two lanes in both directions, however drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Innovation Drive Bridge

Innovation Drive Bridge on Innovation Drive, about 600 metres north of the intersection of Highway 4 (Pictou Road), is closed for repairs until Thursday, Oct, 31.

Detour signs are in place.


DIGBY COUNTY: Acacia Valley Bridge

Acacia Valley Bridge on Acacia Valley Road, about a half-kilometre south of the intersection of Ridge Road and Acacia Valley Road, is closed for bridge repairs until Friday, Nov. 29.

A detour is in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 316

Sections of Route 316, between Coddles Harbour Bridge and New Harbour West Road, is reduced to one lane until Friday, Nov. 15 for repaving.

Drivers should reduce speed and obey signs and traffic control people in the area.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 107 Night Closures

Highway 107, between Exit 18 at Mineville Road and Exit 20 at William Porter Connector, is closed to all traffic from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. daily for repaving and widening.

On Sunday, the road will stay closed until 8 a.m.

Drivers will be detoured onto Highway 7.

The project will be completed in late October.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Joseph Howe Drive Overpass

Repairs are being made on the Joseph Howe Drive overpass on Highway 102, Exit 0 until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Travel lanes are shifted to accommodate rush hour traffic.

Drivers should reduce speed to 50 km/h and drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


HANTS COUNTY: Falmouth Back Road

Traffic on the Falmouth Back Road is reduced to one lane, from the intersection of Highway 1 east for about three kilometres, for repaving until Monday, Oct. 28.

Expect delays and use extra caution or alternate routes, such as Town Road, Dyke Road, or Highway 14.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridges

The Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook bridges, on Route 202 in West Gore, have a 24-tonne weight restriction until further notice.


HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie, Bridge Trunk 2

Shubenacadie Bridge on Highway 2 is reduced to one lane until Tuesday, Dec. 31. The speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h in the construction area.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105

There are two projects on Highway 105:

Project one is on the Orangedale Road from Highway 105, south to Orangedale Crossing for about seven kilometres. One lane is closed for clearing, ditching, drainage, paving and shouldering.

The second project is on the Northside River Dennys Road from Highway 105, south for about five kilometres. One lane will be closed for clearing, ditching, drainage, paving and shouldering.

Work is expected to be completed on Thursday, Oct. 31, and takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Traffic control people will be on site.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Cornwallis River Bridge

Cornwallis River Bridge, on Middle Dyke Road near Coldbrook, will have one-lane closures for bridge repairs until Friday, Nov. 15.

Traffic will be controlled by traffic signals 24 hours a day. Public advised of delays, please take alternate route if possible.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Meisner Bridge

Meisner Bridge on Highway 10, near Cherryfield, has alternating lane closures for repairs until Friday, Nov. 15.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Route 329

Route 329, from New Harbour Road east for about eight kilometres, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31.

There is stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Route 332

Route 332 from Highway 3, east of Lunenburg to Blue Rocks Road, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Trunk 3

Highway 3, from Hermans Island to Route 332, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


PICTOU COUNTY: Barneys River Road

Barneys River Road, from Highway 104 north to Avondale Cross Road, for about six kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving. There is one-way traffic through about two kilometres of work zones and delays are expected.

Work takes places from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is expected to be completed by Thursday, Oct. 31.


PICTOU COUNTY: Route 245

Sections of Route 245, for about five kilometres from east of Big Island Road to Lighthouse Lane, are reduced to one lane for repaving until Thursday, Oct. 31. Delays are expected.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 4

Traffic on Highway 4, from west of Campbells Bridge, west for about five kilometres to Hay Cove Bridge, is reduced to one lane for repaving and the replacement of the Hay Cove bridge. Work is scheduled to be completed by Saturday, Nov. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and workers in the area.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Cape Auguet Road

Traffic on Cape Auguet Road, from the intersection of Lower Road south for about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving and other improvements. The work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, Oct. 31.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and workers in the area.


VICTORIA COUNTY: Highway 105

Highway 105, from Seal Island Bridge to the top of Kellys Mountain, will have alternating lane closures for repaving until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Highway 101

Sections of Highway 101, from Exit 33 at Richmond Road to the Yarmouth/Digby County line, are reduced to one lane for repairs until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Motorists should be prepared to stop. Cyclists should use caution because of a low shoulder.
