Make An Appointment To Get Ready For Winter

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

Recent frosty mornings mean snow will soon be here. It's time to make sure people are ready for safe winter driving. Vehicles should have snow tires, cold temperature antifreeze and an emergency kit.

"It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to driving in winter," said Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Geoff MacLellan. "As someone who regularly travels our highways, I know what a difference having a car winter-ready can make. Make your service appointment now and take the necessary steps to be prepared for snow and ice conditions."

Travellers can check road conditions before heading out by calling 511 or visiting 511.gov.ns.ca/ . They can also check conditions using provincial highway cameras at novascotia.ca/tran/ .

"All our winter maintenance equipment is ready to go," said Mr. MacLellan. "While Nova Scotians are getting ready, we're getting ready to make our roads safe to drive this winter."
