Fires Update, Monday, Aug. 15, 4 p.m.

Following is a provincial fire update for Monday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m.

• there have been no significant changes to the fires since the 10 a.m. update
• beginning tonight, and for the next few days, the section of Trunk 8 near Maitland Bridge, Annapolis Co., that has been closed since last week will open at 8 p.m. and close again at 8 a.m.
• travel restrictions remain in effect across Mainland Nova Scotia and people are asked to continue to avoid any activity that could potentially cause more fires. As announced earlier today, travel restrictions have been lifted for Cape Breton
