Applications Now Open for Social Innovation Lab Fellowship

Seniors (Oct. 2007 - Aug. 2021)

Are you interested in discovering ideas and developing solutions related to Nova Scotia’s aging population? If so, government is looking for open-minded, creative and diverse individuals for a one-year fellowship with NS GovLab.

“NS GovLab is like nothing government has ever done before,” said Seniors Minister Leo Glavine. “By doing things differently, we’re bringing together curious and committed individuals to address the root causes of social issues. The lab gives people a chance to work with government in a new way to create long-term change in Nova Scotia.”

As a social innovation lab, NS GovLab is developing promising solutions in response to Nova Scotia’s aging population. People of all ages, backgrounds, education levels and from all regions of the province are encouraged to apply.

“Diversity underpins all aspects of our work - the people, the ideas and the methods,” said Marjorie Willison, a fellow with NS GovLab. “Applying social innovation has helped us tackle real social issues facing the aging population in Nova Scotia. It has been a vibrant and gratifying process.”

The first group of 25 fellows were selected in March and have completed the initial phase of the fellowship. They are currently working with the NS GovLab team to design the next phase of their work.

Fellows chosen to participate in the lab will deepen their knowledge and perspectives on the future of aging in our province.
