Charles Keating Appointed QEII Board
Chairman

Charles V. Keating, a well known Dartmouth businessman with extensive community volunteer experience, has been appointed chairman of the board of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre (QEII) in Halifax, Health Minister Jim Smith announced today.

"Charles Keating brings the right mixture of experience and community commitment to the QEII board," said Dr. Smith. "He will play a very valuable role and I would like to personally thank him for taking on this important volunteer position."

Mr. Keating is the founder and chairman of Access Communications, Inc. He is a director of St. John Ambulance for Nova Scotia, a past chairman of the Nova Scotia Hospital Foundation, a past director of the Dartmouth General Hospital and a past adviser to the Victoria General Hospital board of directors.

"I am pleased to accept the chairman's role, and look forward to the challenges and rewards that it will have to offer," said Mr. Keating.
