Natural Resources (to July 2018)

Natural Resources Minister Kennie MacAskill has reminded hunters that applications for the 1998 moose licence draw must be received by May 28.

Application forms are currently available at Department of Natural Resources offices across the province.

"To be eligible for the draw, applications must be received at the department's game licence office in Halifax no later than Thursday, May 28," said Mr. MacAskill.

Two hundred licences will be available for the 1998 moose season, which runs Oct. 12-24 in Inverness and Victoria counties.

A draw for the licences will take place June 24 at the Gaelic College in St. Anns.

The fee for an application is $5 plus HST. The fee for a moose hunting license is $50 plus HST.

Natural Resources receives about 10,000 applications for 200 licences each year. The Nova Scotia moose hunt is open only to hunters who live in the province.
