The Law's Online: N.S. Regulations on the Internet

Justice

Surfing the Net can now net you free access to the full text of Nova Scotia's consolidated regulations, the rules that relate to specific statutes.

The regulations, previously available through the Office of the Registrar, are now available on the website of the Registry of Regulations, http://www.gov.ns.ca/just/regulations .

"These days, customer service and electronic access are one and the same," said Justice Minister Robbie Harrison. "With the regulations available online, Nova Scotians can now have access in the convenience of their own homes, instead of having to visit the office or consult the Royal Gazette in libraries."

This free access will also provide users with an opportunity for comprehensive analysis and easy reference. An official version of the regulations can be ordered online. The website will be updated every two weeks, within one week of publication of the Royal Gazette Part II.

Provincial statutes are also available electronically through the Legislative Counsel office at http://www.gov.ns.ca/legi/legc .
