TOURISM/CULTURE-Get Back to Class at the Centre for Craft, Design

Registrations are being taken for fall craft classes at the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design in Halifax, 1683 Barrington St.

The centre provides quality instruction by respected Nova Scotia artisans in comfortable and well-equipped studios. Thirty-one classes will be offered in a variety of crafts for beginners as well as advanced students working in clay, textiles, wood, metal, and paper. In addition to various crafts such as rug hooking, fish carving and enamelling, there are a number of classes on a Christmas theme, as well as Halloween mask-making for children ages 10-14. Also, a special interest course will be offered to explore the fascinating world of collecting. For further information or to register for a class, please call 902-424-4062.

For those pursuing self-directed study or experimentation, the wood, metal and weaving studios at the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design are open for use by qualified artisans by prior arrangement. For further information, individuals are invited to contact the newly appointed facility co-ordinator, Beverley Brown-Sweeting, at 902-424-4062.
