Tentative Teachers Contract Settlement Reached

A tentative settlement has been reached in contract talks between the provincial government and the Nova Scotia's Teachers Union, Education Minister Jane Purves said today.

"As a result of a lot of hard work on both sides, a tentative settlement has been reached at the bargaining table," said Ms. Purves. "We believe the proposed contract is both fair and reasonable."

Details of the tentative settlement will be announced following a ratification vote by the union's 10,000 members.
