Request for Proposals

Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) announced today that it is requesting proposals for the operation of warehousing and distribution services. The provincial government's Public Tenders Office will process the request.

This initiative was announced last fall by Rodney MacDonald, Minister responsible for the Liquor Control Act.

"Government is interested in determining whether there is a business case to be made for providing alternative warehousing and distribution services," said Mr. MacDonald.

A successful proposal would have to provide services to the existing 100 retail stores of the liquor corporation, as well as about 150 metro-area licensees that use the current NSLC Distribution Centre in Bayers Lake.

Bruce Rogers, acting president of the corporation, said the call for proposals will look at all possible options. The intent is to provide service that is equal to or better than what is now provided and to reduce overall warehousing and distribution costs.
