Wentworth Provincial Park Opens

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

Wentworth Provincial Park in Cumberland County is now open to the public and will be privately operated until the end of the camping season on Oct. 14. Natural Resources Minister Tim Olive made the announcement today, Aug. 15.

"Although the park did not open at the beginning of the camping season, I am pleased that someone has come forward to operate it for the remainder of the season," said Mr. Olive. "Nova Scotia's provincial parks provide many outdoor recreational opportunities for both visitors and residents."

The park, located on Highway 4, had previously been operated by Hostelling International -- Nova Scotia since 1998.

The Department of Natural Resources will issue a call for proposals in the fall from outside groups or individuals to operate and maintain the camping park in future years.

For camping reservations or more information, call the park at 902-548-2999.
