TOURISM/CULTURE--Clay Works Displayed at the Mary E. Black Gallery

The Mary E. Black Gallery is hosting a ceramic exhibition called Skeletal Earth/The Ending of Time: Rebecca Tudor and Jacqueline Riemer.

The exhibit showcases the work of Sable River tilemaker Rebecca Tudor and Bayside visual artist Jacqueline Riemer. The exhibit is curated by artist Kay Stanfield.

The works explore the forces and connections between the earth and the ocean. Ms. Tudor uses rock formations along the coastline as her inspiration, while Ms. Riemer focuses on the stillness of tidal pools to reflect on the ending of time.

Both artists graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

The exhibition runs until April 5 at the Mary E. Black Gallery in the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design, 1683 Barrington St., Halifax. The gallery is open from Monday to Thursday, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m; Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m; and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, with donations welcome. The gallery is a program of the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design, which works to promote and develop craft- and design- related industries in Nova Scotia.
