Solutions Sought for Rissers Beach Boardwalk

The Department of Natural Resources is currently looking at options for the damaged boardwalk at Rissers Beach Provincial Park in Lunenburg County.

Natural Resources Minister Richard Hurlburt announced today, April 21, that department staff are gathering information on the different options for the saltmarsh boardwalk, which was extensively damaged this winter.

"I've had an opportunity to visit the site and to meet with the municipal councillor and the community," said Mr. Hurlburt. "I know the boardwalk is a valuable resource to the local community and I've asked staff to provide me with information on the best options for the boardwalk."

Mr. Hurlburt is confident the situation will be resolved to meet the needs of the community. The department is willing to discuss options for partnerships.
