Public Information Sessions Planned

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

The Department of Natural Resources will hold two public information sessions this week on the progress of restoration work at several provincial parks.

"Hurricane Juan caused significant damage in many of our provincial parks, particularly in the Halifax Regional Municipality," said Natural Resources Minister Richard Hulburt. "Some of the parks have been cleaned up and are open, but others still require some work which will be carried out in the next few weeks and months. We want to provide park users with an update and an opportunity to discuss the progress to date."

The sessions will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at the Eastern Passage Fire Hall and Thursday, May 27 at the Lawrencetown Community Centre. Both sessions will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Eastern Passage location will provide updates on McNabs and Lawlor Islands, McCormacks Beach, Rainbow Haven Beach, Conrad Beach and Cole Harbour Heritage Park. The Lawrencetown session will provide an update on Porters Lake, Lawrencetown Beach, Martinique Beach and the Salt Marsh Trail.
