Review of Wild Turkey Proposal Proceeding

Natural Resources Minister Richard Hurlburt said today, Sept. 13, that information gathered during his review of a proposal to introduce wild turkeys to Nova Scotia is now available on a department website.

"Since receiving the proposal, my department has worked to ensure that we have the best possible information available to make a fair and well-informed decision," said Mr. Hurlburt. "I will make a decision after careful consideration of all the information that has been assembled and based on the best interests of Nova Scotians."

Information on the proposed introduction of wild turkeys, new scientific information, and a disease review are available on the website at www.gov.ns.ca/natr/wildlife .
