Fire Ban Lifted Today

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

The ban on open fires in central and western regions of Nova Scotia ended at noon today, Sept. 15.

The remnants of Hurricane Ophelia are expected to bring wet weather to the province this weekend, helping to reduce the forest fire hazard.

If no rain is received, the Department of Natural Resources will consider another open fire ban in dry areas across Nova Scotia next week.

A ban on open fires in the eastern region was lifted Aug. 26.
