Minister Makes Statement About Tragic Accident

A tragic all-terrain vehicle accident today, Oct. 27, has taken the lives of two young Nova Scotians and injured a third.

"My heart goes out to their families and friends. On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I offer my sincere condolences and regrets," said Natural Resources Minister Richard Hurlburt.

The details of the accident are under investigation.

"Although I will wait until the investigation has concluded, I will say this -- I am deeply saddened. This awful situation causes me to stop and reflect on the regulations around the use of off-highway vehicles that are currently being debated. I cannot speak for all of my colleagues, but I can say that in light of what we know at this point, I am rethinking my position," said Mr. Hurlburt.
